Curl Love: Curls on Pongal!! ;)

Happy Pongal & Happy Makar Sankranti!!!

I am so excited today!!! For soooo many things!!!

  • I made pongal (sweet & salty) in open pots and it came out sooooooo well!! Till today, I never really hit the right consistency (when making in open pots!!) But todayyyyyyy both pongals came out awesomeeeee!!! Yayyy!!!
  • I tried the “no-styling product” routine on a festive day ( when i never really take chances and lather up all the gel that I have!!) andddd I kind of liked my hair.
  • I tied a saree!! Have decided to tie more saris this year…and this was the very first!!
  • I did a quick (under 5 minutes) hair style…annnnd added flowers to it!! You would have already seen that in above pic!!
  • Went to temple too!!

So overall so many ‘yaaaayyy’s!! πŸ™‚

Here is my Saree, Hair (without styling product), & the overall look on pongal!!! πŸ™‚ Routine and hair routine and product at end of this post.

This is my fully dry hair without any styling product – No gel..No styling Cream!!

This Saree had been resting in my cupboard for almost 4 years now!! I got it just for the roses!! πŸ™‚ Plus I am loving those two ringlets on both the shoulders!!

Me *Thinking*: May be I should fluff?? May be I should get a hair cut? Oh! how my Day 2 hair will look??? πŸ˜‰

But I still like my hair without any styling product!! πŸ™‚

This time, this is what I did:

Deep Conditioner: Applied Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque at night on dry hair. (I am not sure how I feel about the applied DC on dry hair!!) Slept with the DC on.

Shampoo: I skipped the shampoo

Conditioner: used very veryyyy little of SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner. Co-washed & rinsed. Then detangled with it and did not wash it off completely. Let some in. I feel I could have washed it all off. It is a bit heavy compared to the TBS Rainforst Conditioner that I have been using.

Styling product: none

I plopped for 5 mins (literally)

Let my hair free andΒ Air Dried.

While my hair dried, I cooked the Pongals, then did pooja and while my hair was damp, I slept with hair laid on satin cloth draped over my pillow. Woke up, got ready and clicked pics….then did the hairstyle and clicked few pics just before leaving!! πŸ™‚

Here is my usual curly hair routine that I follow!!

So, how are you enjoying the festivals and the long weekends?? πŸ™‚

Hey btw, will you ever want to go styling product free?? Lemme know!!!

  1. Wow pretty pics, and love the saree, one of my fav colors. I am going product free as well, my hair is healthy and soft.

  2. Your hair is totally beautiful, amazing getting that definition with no product, I’m guessing the deep conditioning helped. I hope mine grows back to look as awesome as yours too πŸ™‚

Would love to hear from you. Please do leave a comment.
