What do you do on those not-so-perfect hair days?!

This is me! Today!!

#Day2 hair.
Last night, there was a birthday party that we attended (Yes #mommylife!😁). It was super fun, though!

By the time I came home, my hair was frizzy from all the playing around!!Β 🤣

I also slept recklessly (read cotton pillowcase, didnt even put hair up!) and in the morning, I felt it should be a #washday.

The moment I went to take bath, a friend came over so I had to skip the hair wash and put my hair in a bun.

Then I lost the mood to wash my hair and started my work.

Work was so hectic that I took a break only by the lunch!! And by now, my bun started to irk me, my mood was so !! So I let my hair down and stared in the mirror!! Man!! Hair looks gorgeous!! Why…like WHY do I have it in a bun!!!

I quickly put on kajal, parted my hair the other side and let my hair free. It made all the difference to my look and to my mood!! <3<3

So, here is my simple tip for those not-so-perfect hair days:

  • Do not tie up your hair, until unless it is very messy!!! (or very humid!) Let your hair free. Even the curls peeping through your frizz and imperfection look beautiful and unique! πŸ™‚

  • Accessorize!! Wear Shiny hair pins or clutch or use a bright hair band!! Or even wear big earrings, or sparkly ones, that shine and add gorgeousness to your entire look!

  • When your hair is not up to “your” perfect, make sure your face is fresh and a bit dolled up (or even a lot!). Even a bit of thicker kajal can make a huge difference! I would say, bring out those mascaras and colored liners!!

  • When you look fresh, bright and put together, the messy curls/waves add an oomph and compliment the whole look.

  • If you look dull when your hair is not up to the mark, it pulls down the entire look. It makes your hair (and you!) look duller than it actually is!!

  • Foremost thing, DO NOT be too critical of your own hair!!! Frizz is a part of curly hair. Embrace it! Love it! How can you expect others to understand and accept your hair until unless you yourself accept it!! LOVE your hair!! Frizz and all included!!

  • When someone compliments your hair (when you think it is not looking good!!), accept the compliment and feel happy about it!! (do not go about fretting that your hair isn’t looking good!). Compliments have a way of pepping you up!! πŸ™‚ <3

  • Similarly, when someone comments that your hair is frizzy, even when it looks fine to you (believe me, that happens too!!), IGNORE their comment. You know your hair better and people who pass such comments surely don’t know sh*t about curly/wavy hair.Β

The below look of my messy hair totally picked up my mood and the blue liner helps too!! πŸ˜‰

Instead of letting this unflattering and randomly clutched bun ruin your day, let your curls breathe and look gorgeous!! πŸ˜‰

  1. Thank you for this! Just what I need to read today. Just the day 3 but the hair has been looking bad since yesterday (the transitioning bits peeping out like little devils). So I sighed and said “It is your hair after all. It will be as moody as you are. Leave it be. It’ll get better.” All it needs is some love. So I took some Pantene Oil replacement cream on wet hands and massaged the scalp and scrunched hair gently. Parted the hair right and didn’t turn to look back.

PS: Divya, the Pantene Oil Replacement Cream is not CG friendly, right? (sadly, I like it)

  2. Hi, I went through the blog and I enjoyed reading it. Natural Hair care product are good for the hair and I suggest my friends and other members to use such type of products rather than damaging hair by using chemical products and I follow the regime all the time. I too always prefer Ayurvedic products for skin, hair etc. Have you ever heard about Soultree India which gives ayurvedic organic skin and hair care product. The ingredients which they use to make 100% ayurvedic beauty prouduct is from mother nature. All products use authentic Ayurvedic recipes and honestly-sourced natural, organic ingredients that do no harm, only good.

  3. Found this post today. Now bookmarking said post. I’ve been CG for less than a year, and I always feel like I’m failing in a way if my waves (I have 2B/2C waves) don’t curl or wave properly. Just had a bad hair day because I ran out of gel and hence my hair is currently a frizzy mess. I hope to come to a point where I stop caring so much about my hair, but I feel like I have something to prove, especially since I was a person who always had their hair in a ponytail and didn’t care about it for my entire life. I’ll re-read this again and again when I have a bad day πŸ™‚

On another note, I came across the Kayos Botanicals Flaxseed Gel on Amazon, and its around Rs.699 for 300ml or something. Would you think about taking a look at it?

    1. I am so glad that this post helped you enough to read it again, Niharika!!! <3 I am sure you will reach the point soon where you do not have to bother much about your hair.....and I totally get the "i need to prove a point" thing...I guess almost all curlies have been at that stage of "only ponies" "in our lives!! πŸ™‚

Kayo botanicals? sure...I will have a look...thanks for letting me know!!! πŸ™‚

Would love to hear from you. Please do leave a comment.
