Ash:Ba Right Ringlets Nourishing Conditioner Review

Ashba Botanics Nourishing Hair Conditioner from their Right Ringlets range is the first conditioner that I am reviewing on this renewed journey. Within the last 1-2 years, so many home grown brands have come up in the market. That I just deemed it fit to start with trying the local brands first. I have already reviewed the Ash:ba Shampoo here.

Pros:

  1. Melts into the hair.
  2. Is a bit thick, but dispenses easily and spreads like a charm!
  3. Makes the hair curl more on drying
  4. Makes detangling easier with the apt amount of water.
  5. It gets absorbed into the hair so beautifully. Does not sit on the hair (like many heavy conditioners do!)
  6. On drying, the hair gains volume and clumps more. Totally love this about it!!
  7. Has the mild fragrance of vanilla (Mild version of the fragrance from Cantu Curl Activator Cream). However, it doesn’t stay on hair post washing.

Cons:

  1. No cons really.
  2. If I am too picky, then I would say that once we are down to half the bottle, it is a bit of an effort to take Just a thought that the pricing could be a bit lower. 1k sounds a bit steep for a conditioner. Well, I know a conditioner is the most important part of our curly wavy hair care routine. But that means we use conditioner much faster. AND it means that we need more affordable yet awesome quality conditioners at our disposal!

CG Friendly Product:

Yes. It is silicone-free.

Pricing:

Rs. 1099 for 237ml (8 fl oz)

Ingredients List:

Ashba conditioner’s ingredients list is impressive as well. Just like the Ash:ba Shampoo, the ingredients of the Ash:ba conditioner are natural ingredients and is vegan as well as cruelty free. The feel of the conditioner totally is justified by the properties of the top 5 ingredients on the list! 🙂

Top 5 ingredients:

  1. Brassicyl Isoleucinate Esylate – it is a naturally derived conditioning base. It’s cationic or say positively charged and is actually an amino acid derivative which makes it perfect as a conditioning agent. It adds weightless moisture to the hair.
  2. Brassica Alcohol – it is a fatty alcohol which conditions hair. Makes it soft and moisturized.
  3. Cetearyl Alcohol – a fatty alcohol which is found in most hair conditioner. Conditions and moisturizes the hair.
  4. Cetrimonium Methosulfate – again cationic and hence conditioning. Also prevents build up in hair – no wonder hair feels super light!
  5. Quarternium-91 – contributes to conditioning, detangling and softening the hair

Packaging:

Ash:ba Conditioner comes in a cylindrical plastic bottle that has a half-press-to-dispense kind of cap (what do you even call that type of lid?!). Very standard packaging, but it somehow feels to have this perfect kind of feel… the apt weight – not too light and not too heavy. Won’t break that easily.

We have to invert and press the bottle for dispensing. However, it needs a tiny bit of an extra press to get the product dispensed once you are down to half the bottle, which in turn kind of crumbles the sticker on the bottle. I am being too picky! Just when I got this thought on my mind, I could not not mention it here. otherwise the product dispensing is pretty much easy.

Consistency:

Ash:ba conditioner has a bit of a loosely thick consistency. From the look it feels as if it might be difficult to spread it, however, the conditioner spreads amazingly and has a very good slip.

Ash:ba Conditioner – Consistency

Product Review:

The Ash:ba conditioner works like a charm. It has a good thick consistency which means more conditioner in that bottle. The conditioner spreads efficiently, melts into the hair, clumps the hair superbly when the right amount of water is added and once dry the curls definitely curl more. It has mild curl enhancing property, is light and works as good as a leave-in as it does as a rinse-off conditioner.

I am not sure if it can double up as a hair mask. It might be a bit light for that but as a conditioner it works well. Even if you leave it in, it makes the hair feel light yet clump more and form nice ringlets. This product delivers what it is expected to and much more. Currently my hair is super dehydrated, Ashba conditioner does make it feel much better. My hair drinks up this conditioner like anything. It efficiently gets absorbed into my hair which is surprisingly nice for a conditioner with a thick-ish consistency like this one.

Overall Summary:

Just like the Ash:ba Shampoo, the Ash:ba conditioner also is totally worth the buy. With the shampoo,I was not okay with the consistency, but with this product, Ash:ba Botanics kind of killed it. It has the perfect consistency, nice slip, moisturizes the hair well and it is so easy to work with. Not to forget the curl enhancing and clumping properties added to the vanila-ish smell! I might definitely repurchase this one. All said, this is surely not a budget product. Rs. 1099 wouldn’t be something that a beginner or a person on budget be willing to spend on. But then that would differs from person to person! 🙂
